2010-02-01Salus International is the 2010 Forbes Diamonds laureate
Salus International is the 2010 Forbes Diamonds laureate, placing 15th in Silesia, and 136th in the all-Polish ranking among companies with the income of over PLN 250 million.
In comparison with the previous year, Salus has gone up by 14 places in Silesia and 97 in the all-Polish ranking. This year’s list features 2713 companies, which is 310 fewer than last year. Most Diamonds originate from the Warmian-Masurian and Silesian Provinces. The requirements to enter Forbes Diamonds ranking was the average annual growth amounting to at least 15 per cent. Only companies whose sales income in 2008 came to at least PLN 5 million were taken into consideration.
Dun & Bradstreet collected data regarding all companies which submitted their financial statements on-time for 2008 to the National Court Register in 2009. The survey established the list of companies awarded with a positive credibility rating, i.e. those which are profitable (based on EBIT and ROA factors), retain high liquidity and are not behind with payments. Companies which have fulfilled all the aforementioned requirements also had to prove a positive financial result and the worth of own capital for the past four years (2005 – 2008).
The Diamond list included those companies which have achieved the highest average annual worth growth. Firstly, all bankrupt firms, or in liquidation, were excluded from the ranking. The second stage consisted in selecting only companies with a positive financial outcome and a risk factor lower than 4, assessed according to Dun & Bradstreet’s rating. In order to retain coherence of the results, financial companies and stock exchange quotations were not taken into consideration.
The Forbes Diamonds ranking was based on the Swiss method of establishing the worth of a company. It includes both financial results and the worth of assets of a given company. It also enables assessment of the enterprise’s potential, considering the span of the investments and the ability to increase sales and income.
Companies were divided into three categories according to sales income in 2008:
- small companies PLN 5 – 50 mil.
- medium companies PLN 50 – 250 mil.
- big companies over PLN 250 mil.
The Forbes Diamonds 2010 ranking is featured in an all-Polish version and divided into 16 Polish provinces.
